Arrive via the lake, on a scenic 10-minute water taxi ride from
Queenstown, or by air - the village is just three kilometres from
the airport. If you're driving, Kawarau Village is a short trip
from Queenstown.

From Queenstown Airport (3km, approx.
5mins):
Follow signs to Queenstown. At the 2nd roundabout take the first
exit onto State Hwy 6 towards Invercargill. Follow the road and
cross single lane bridge. After approx. 1km turn right onto
Peninsula Rd. After approx. 1km turn right into Kawarau Village.
Travel to Kawarau Village from Queenstown Airport by taxi,
super shuttle, hire care (must be pre-arranged) or limousine (must
be pre-arranged).
From South:
Take State Hwy 6 from Invercargill towards Queenstown. Approx. 2
km prior to Queenstown Airport take Peninsula Road to Kelvin
Heights and follow for approx. 1 km. Village entrance is on the
right.
From North:
Travel State Hwy 6 towards Queenstown and on outskirts take the
first exit off roundabout towards Queenstown Airport. At the next
roundabout take the second exit towards Milford Sound. Follow the
road and cross single lane bridge. After approx. 1km turn right
onto Peninsula Road. After approx. 1km turn right into Kawarau
Village.
From Invercargill Airport (178km, approx.
3hrs):
Turn left from airport and follow signs to Hwy 6, direction
Queenstown for approx. 170kms. Before the Kawarau Falls bridge turn
left onto Peninsula Road to Kelvin Heights. Travel for approx. 1km
and then turn right into Kawarau Village.
From Dunedin Airport (280km, approx.
3.5hrs):
Take Hwy 1 south towards Milton. Take Hwy 8 NW towards
Queenstown. At Frankton roundabout take exit to Invercargill and
then exit towards Milford Sound, finally turn right onto Peninsula
Rd and after 1km turn right into Kawarau Village.
